Ingredients

  • 500g broccoli
  • 2 1/2 cloves of garlic
  • 60g Parmesan cheese (piece)
  • 50g grated Gouda
  • 2 eggs (size M)
  • 150 ml whipped cream
  • 80g heavy cream cheese
  • sea salt, pepper
  • nutmeg
  • 60g ham cubes

Instructions for preparation

Step 1: Wash the broccoli and cut into smaller pieces. Cut broccoli stem into pieces about 2 cm long. Put broccoli and stem pieces into boiling salted water for 2-3 minutes. Drain and rinse with cold water.

Step 2: Peel and finely chop garlic. Finely grate Parmesan cheese and mix with Gouda. Preheat oven (electric stove: 200°C/fan: 180°C/gas: see manufacturer).

Step 3: Mix eggs, cream and cream cheese with a whisk in a mixing bowl. Season well with salt, pepper and nutmeg. Stir in garlic, half cheese and half diced ham.

Step 4: Place broccoli in a baking dish (about 1.5 l capacity). Pour egg mixture over it. Sprinkle with remaining ham as well as cheese. Bake broccoli casserole in hot oven for about 15 minutes. Take out and serve with a green salad or chicken breast if you like.

Et Voilá – ready to enjoy your creamy low carb pleasure.
