This farmer’s casserole is the perfect treat for your ketogenic diet. Instead of potatoes, it is served with kohlrabi. Spicy minced meat and bell peppers round out this palate-pleasing dish.
For 4 servings
– 600 ml vegetable broth
– 500 g kohlrabi
– 500 g minced meat
– 150 g cocktail tomatoes
– 125 g ham cubes
– 1 bell bell pepper
– ½ onion
– 1 clove of garlic
– 2 tablespoons tomato paste
– 1 tablespoon butter
– 1 tsp paprika powder
– ¼ tsp pepper
– a little salt
Step 1: Peel the kohlrabi and cut into bite-sized pieces. Dice the peppers and tomatoes, then set everything aside for now. Finely dice the onions and put them in a large pot.
Step 2: Add some butter to the onions and sauté everything for about 3-4 minutes. Then add the minced meat and the ham cubes to the pot and sauté everything together over medium heat for about 10 minutes, until the minced meat has turned golden brown.
Step 3: Add the vegetables to the pot and stir everything vigorously. Add the garlic clove and sauté for another 10 minutes over medium heat.
Step 4: Add the tomato paste and stir everything for 1-2 minutes. Deglaze with the vegetable broth and season with the paprika powder and pepper.
Let the whole thing simmer again for 10 minutes before serving the finished farmer’s casserole.
