In order to get you perfectly prepared for breast liposuction and to alleviate any fears you may have about the procedure, we conduct a detailed consultation with you in advance. During this consultation, we answer your questions and go over the procedure of the treatment. If you have any further questions after the appointment, that’s not a problem. Lipedema surgery of the breast begins with marking the areas to be suctioned on the skin. The anaesthetist will then administer the general anaesthetic. As soon as the anaesthetic takes effect, we make minimal incisions (0.5 to 1 cm) and inject the tumescent solution to detach the diseased fat cells from the surrounding tissue. We use the vibrating cannula to remove the fat in a way that is gentle on the tissue. The procedure on both breasts takes about 2–3 hours, depending on the complexity of the surgery.
After the liposuction, you will receive special compression garments, which you should wear night and day for about six weeks. In addition, you will usually stay in the clinic for one night so that any rare after-effects can be dealt with quickly. We recommend that our patients take it easy and allow their bodies to rest for the first few days after the treatment. This way, their ability to work is often restored after only one week. Risks such as wound healing disorders or the formation of unsightly scars occur only in very rare cases.
The female breast tissue is very sensitive. Liposuction must be performed with extreme care, as the focus is on maintaining an aesthetic breast shape. Therefore, many years of experience of the specialist in lipedema treatment is required.
Our team at LIPOCURA® has the necessary expertise to perform a tissue-conserving procedure with aesthetically pleasing results. We use the tumescent technique in combination with the PAL method (power assisted liposuction or vibration liposuction).
In this specialised procedure, a special tumescent solution is first injected into the breast region to soften and isolate the fat cells to be removed, allowing for more precise and gentle suction. The vibrating cannula is then used, and its innovative technique is gentle on the surrounding tissue, lymph vessels and veins while efficiently removing the loosened fat cells. This is all done under general anaesthesia to ensure your comfort and safety throughout the procedure. We are aware of the concerns many of our patients have about the breast losing its shape and sagging during surgery. Of course, we include this in our surgical planning in order to give you not only freedom from discomfort but also an aesthetically pleasing result.
Sometimes there is excess skin on the breast after liposuction. However, a firm bust has a direct influence on many women’s perception of femininity. We offer suitable solutions for this too, to preserve your natural contours and give you a new level of comfort and self-acceptance. Our skin-tightening methods – for example, the Cool Plasma, which we can perform alongside the operation without any additional downtime or scars – aim to reduce any skin sagging that may have occurred after the lipedema operation. This way, you do not have to deal with additional aesthetic burdens.
