Liposuction of the buttocks

Many women wish for a shapely bottom – but especially lipedema patients. Because the pathological fat distribution disorder not only ensures that the buttocks are misshapen and excessively voluminous, but also that it causes significant discomfort. Depending on the stage, lipedema causes, among other things, severe pain, sensitivity to pressure (especially when sitting) and restrictions in mobility. When conservative therapies no longer provide satisfactory relief, liposuction is suitable for lasting success.

The experienced team of specialists at LIPOCURA® will accompany you on your way to a new, symptom-free life. We have been dealing with lipedema and its best possible treatment for many years. That is why we take our patients and their complaints very seriously. We want you to feel that you are in good hands with us. We are happy to answer all your questions at any time.

What is the procedure for buttock liposuction?

We are always there for you and accompany you throughout the entire period of your treatment – from the initial consultation and preparation for the surgery to the procedure and aftercare. If you are unsure or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

The first consultation in our specialist centres serves to enable us to get to know you and your complaints as well as wishes better and to inform you specifically about the course of treatment. Of course, we also want you to build up trust in us – we take away your fears and uncertainties before the operation and answer all your questions.

The lipedema surgery begins with us marking the areas on the buttocks to be treated and administering the general anaesthetic. As soon as the anaesthetic takes effect, we make the incisions of 0.5 to 1 cm and inject the tumescent solution through them to bloat the fat cells. In the last step, the tissue-conserving liposuction is performed by the special vibrating cannula. The entire liposuction procedure takes about 2–3 hours, depending on the complexity of the surgery.

After successful liposuction of the buttocks, you will be given special compression pants to avoid postoperative formation of dents or oedema. The compression garment should be worn night and day for about six weeks. Usually our patients stay for one night after the surgery for in-patient observation before they can return home. You should take it easy for the first few days and avoid any strenuous physical activities. Listen to your body and give it the time it needs to heal.
The risks – rare cases of wound healing disorders or unsightly scarring – can be kept to an absolute minimum by our specialists thanks to their long-standing experience and adherence to the highest standards of hygiene and quality.

Which method is used for liposuction of the buttocks?

After the arms and legs, the buttocks are most often affected by lipedema. Affected women often have difficulty choosing clothes, complain of pain when sitting and do not feel taken seriously by their environment, as lipedema is not infrequently mistaken for being overweight. The removal of the diseased fat cells is therefore of particular importance.

At LIPOCURA® we perform liposuction on the buttocks in our specialist centres under general anaesthesia and using the PAL method (power assisted liposuction) with a combined tumescent technique. We first inject the special tumescent solution into the areas of the buttocks to be treated. This causes the fatty tissue to swell, so that it can then be removed with the help of a cannula, the tip of which is vibrated. The surrounding tissue, lymph vessels and veins are not damaged.

After the treatment: buttock lift?

The skin does not always regress on its own after liposuction. Then an unsightly excess of skin may remain on the buttocks, which in turn can lead to complaints such as inflammation or bacterial infections in the skin folds. We do not leave you alone with this – at LIPOCURA® we provide you with a holistic treatment that takes all eventualities into account. Skin tightening using various methods such as the plasma laser is also part of our range of services.

How much does liposuction on the buttocks cost?

The costs for a lipedema surgery on the buttocks at LIPOCURA® are based on the complexity of the surgery, i.e. how many fat cells we have to remove. The price includes consultation, surgical material, aftercare, compression garments and personnel costs. There are no hidden or subsequent fees; we will gladly provide you with a detailed proposal during a personal consultation.
